Game Story

The Newfoundland Growlers failed to capture back-to-back wins for the 4th time this season as the Beast tamed the Growlers 3-2 Saturday evening at the CAA Centre in Brampton.

Daniel Ciampini opened the scoring for the Beast at the 12:46 of the first period and just ten seconds later Aaron Luchuk beat Growlers netminder Eamon McAdam for a quick 2 goal lead.

Newfoundland would get on the board in the first, with a breakaway goal from Josh Kestner.

Despite a slew of powerplay chances and a five-on-three opportunity the Growlers failed to beat Marcoux in the second period. The Beast added a late period goal by Autur Tyanulin put the Beast ahead 3-1 going into the final frame.

Josh Kestner would score his second breakaway goal of the game at 6:23 of the third period but that would be the final goal registered in the game, as the Beast would hold on to secure the 3-2 victory.
