ST. JOHN’S– The Newfoundland Growlers, proud affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that the Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, will travel to Newfoundland and Labrador in October to compete in a cross-province training camp exhibition series.
The ECHL exhibition showdown will pit the Beast versus the Growlers at three venues across the province:
o Thursday, October 4th (7:00 p.m.) Stephenville Dome – Stephenville
o Friday, October 5th (7:00 p.m.) Hodder Memorial Centre – Deer Lake
o Sunday, October 7th (2:00 p.m.) Eastlink Events Centre – Clarenville
The Growlers also announced that training camp will run from September 30th to October 9h, initially based out of St. John’s with stops in Stephenville, Deer Lake and Clarenville before returning to Mile One Centre.

It’s important to our organization that we reach all the deserving hockey fans across the province.” said Dean MacDonald, Chair of Deacon Sports and Entertainment. “We look forward to welcoming the Brampton Beast in what we know will be an exciting match-up, as we head into our inaugural season of Growlers hockey.”

The first game of the regular season for the Newfoundland Growlers in their inaugural season will be October 12th when they face off against the Florida Everblades at Mile One Centre.
