GROWLERS SIGN JORDAN ESCOTT TO SPC

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, are proud to announce that St. John’s native Jordan Escott has signed a Standard Player Contract (SPC) ahead of the club’s series against the Reading Royals.

Escott, a 30-year-old, left-handed forward, has spent the past nine seasons in the Newfoundland senior hockey circuit and has established himself as one of the top amateur players in the province.

He played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Prince Edward Island Rocket from 2008 to 2011, appearing in 116 games, collecting 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points.

Escott finished his junior hockey career in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MJAHL) with the Amherst Ramblers in 2011-12.

He began his senior hockey career with a Herder championship as a member of the Eastlink Cee Bee Stars in 2012-13.

After two seasons with the Cee Bees, Escott enjoyed stints with the Gander Flyers (2014 to 2019) and St. John’s Senior Capitals (2019-20).

In 2017-18 as a member of the Gander Flyers, Escott earned a league scoring championship, amassing 16 goals and 34 assists for 50 points in just 20 games played.

This season in 2021-22, he returned to the Cee Bee Stars and has already recorded 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in just ten games played.

The Growlers return home for the first time in 2022 this week as they host the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, the Reading Royals, on February 3, 4, and 5.
