GROWLERS SIGN KRIS OLDHAM TO SPC

GROWLERS SIGN KRIS OLDHAM TO SPC

ST. JOHN'S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, is proud to announce that goaltender Kris Oldham has signed a Standard Player Contract (SPC) and will join the club to kick off its five-game road trip.

Oldham, a 24-year-old Anchorage, Alaska native, was a 6th round NHL Draft selection, 153rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015.

He played two seasons of NCAA hockey with the University of Nebraska – Omaha in 2016-17 and 2017-18, posting a 6-5-2 record and a 3.63 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage in 16 appearances.

Oldham transferred to Clarkson University in 2018-19 and went on to play two seasons at Clarkson, appearing in nine contests in 2019-20 and 2020-21 with a 4-2 record and a 2.85 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.

Following the completion of his final year at Clarkson in 2020-21, he made his professional debut with the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears, posting a 2-2-1 record in six games played with a 3.95 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage.

The Growlers are on the road this week, taking on the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, the Reading Royals, on Friday and Saturday night.

Petruzzelli spent the last four seasons playing college hockey at Quinnipiac University, where he played in 94 career games, posting a record of 51-27-8 with 10 shutouts, a 2.17 goals-against average and a .915% save percentage.

Newfoundland is on the road for its next five contests, beginning with a game against the Reading Royals at Santander Arena on Friday night.
