PREVIEW | NOVEMBER 5 vs Adirondack Thunder

SERIES PREVIEW | NOVEMBER 5, 6 & 7 VS ADIRONDACK

The Newfoundland Growlers play at home for the first time this season when they put their unbeaten record on the line against the Adirondack Thunder in a three-game set starting this Friday at C.B.S. Arena.

Newfoundland come into Friday night’s matchup on 10 days rest — their last outing a 4-1 road win over the Trois-Rivieres Lions way back on October 26. Adirondack finished up a three-game home stand by picking up a single point in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Manchester Monarchs last Saturday.

These two teams met earlier this season back on October 23 where the Growlers topped the Thunder in a tight 3-2 contest. Matteo Pietroniro’s shorthanded goal in the second period stood as the game-winner while Evan Cormier made 26 saves to earn the victory.

Puck drops at 7:00 pm NL time on Friday and Saturday evening while the action gets underway at 4:00 pm on Sunday. Growlers fans can watch all three games live on FloSports (subscription required), listen to the call on Mixlr, or follow along on Twitter (@NLGrowlers) for game updates and highlights.

WHO TO WATCH:

NFL – Zach O’Brien (F): The Growlers leading scorer from the 2018-19 season, O’Brien is once again off to a hot start this year with four points through four games played. A Newfoundland native and one of the team’s top offensive weapons, the 29-year-old winger will be relied upon in the scoring department across the three games this weekend.

ADK – Patrick Grasso (F): One of the many fresh faces on the Thunder roster for 2021-22, Grasso is off to a hot start in his first ECHL season with four points in three games. The University of New Hampshire grad could prove a pivotal source of offense this season for Adirondack.
