SERIES PREVIEW | NOVEMBER 12, 13 & 14 VS WORCESTER

The Newfoundland Growlers call C.B.S. Arena home once again this weekend where they’ll welcome the Worcester Railers in a three-game set beginning this Friday night.Newfoundland took two out of three in Kelligrews last weekend against the Adirondack Thunder including an emphatic 5-0 win in Sunday’s rubber match — goaltender Keith Petruzzelli picked up his first professional shutout with 27 saves.Worcester’s last action also came this past Sunday as the Railers fell 4-1 at home against the Florida Everblades. Charlie Spetz scored the lone goal for the hosts in their third consecutive loss. With both teams opting out of last season, their last meeting came nearly two years ago back on February 9, 2020 at DCU Center with the visiting Growlers taking down the Railers 4-2. Newfoundland and Worcester will become much more familiar with one another moving forward as they’re set to square off four times this month.Puck drops at 7:00 pm NL time on Friday and Saturday evening while the action gets underway at 4:00 pm on Sunday. Growlers fans can watch all three games live on FloSports (subscription required), listen to the call on Mixlr, or follow along on Twitter (@NLGrowlers) for game updates and highlights.WHO TO WATCH:NFL – Ryan Chyzowski (F): The first-year pro is off to a hot start on the rock with seven points (3 G, 4A) in seven games played, earning a call-up to the Toronto Marlies last week for his efforts. Chyzowski impressed the Growlers faithful with his speed and skill last week and is a safe bet to do the same once again this weekend in C.B.S.ADK – Nolan Vesey (F): The former Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick (2014, 6th rd) and younger brother of New Jersey Devils forward Jimmy Vesey, Nolan Vesey is the only Railers player with more than one goal in their opening five games. If Worcester can turn around their poor start to the season this weekend, offensive production from Vesey would go a long way in achieving that.
