MARLIES ASSIGN NOEL HOEFENMAYER AND GORDIE GREEN TO THE GROWLERS

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that forward Gordie Green and defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer have been reassigned to the Growlers by the club’s AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.

Green, a 24-year-old Ann Arbor, Michigan native, appeared in one game for the Marlies during his recent callup. In 20 games as a Growler this season, Green ranks third on the team in points with 17 and second in assists with 12.

Hoefenmayer has only appeared in seven games as a Growler this season, but he has impacted the club in a big way, producing at a point-per-game pace with four goals and three assists for seven points. His four goals scored leads all Growlers defensemen.

The Toronto, Ontario native has also appeared in seven games as a Marlie this season, collecting three assists and eight penalty minutes.

The Growlers are set to kick off a seven-game road trip on Friday, January 21 as they take on the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, the Kansas City Mavericks.
