KEITH PETRUZZELLI NAMED ECHL GOALIE OF THE WEEK

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, are proud to announce that goaltender Keith Petruzzelli has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 7 – 13, 2022.

The 23-year-old Wilbraham, Massachusetts native made three appearances last week against the Maine Mariners and recorded a perfect 3-0-0-0 record, stopping a total of 73 of the 75 shots he faced in compiling a 0.67 goals-against average and a .973 save percentage.

On Wednesday, February 9, he stopped all 25 shots he faced to earn his third shutout of the season in a 5-0 triumph over the Mariners.

This marks the second time this season that Petruzzelli has earned the league’s weekly honour. He was the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week to kick off the season on October 21 – 24, 2021.

The Quinnipiac grad joins the Growlers on an AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies and has made 14 appearances with the Growlers this season. He owns a 9-4-1-0 record with a 1.94 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

The Growlers return to action on the road against the Maine Mariners on Friday, February 18.
