Chris Martenet Assigned To Growlers

ST. JOHN’S, NL - The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that defenseman Chris Martenet has been assigned to the club by the Manitoba Moose (AHL).

Martenet, a 26-year old Indianapolis native, brings plenty of ECHL experience with him to Newfoundland having previously suited up for four different teams in the league, most recently during the 2021-22 season with the Toledo Walleye.

A former 4th round pick of the Dallas Stars in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Growlers fans might recognize Martenet’s name from his days with the Brampton Beast, a former North Division rival of Newfoundland during their first two seasons in the ECHL.

Newfoundland return to the ice this Friday night when they face the Trois-Riviéres Lions in their first of two meetings this weekend at the Colisée Vidéotron.
