ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers are proud to announce that forward Isaac Johnson has been named Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2022.
Johnson, a 23-year-old Andover, Minnesota native, recorded two goals and three assists for five points in two games played against the Trois-Rivieres Lions this past Friday and Saturday.
Under an AHL contract with the Manitoba Moose, Johnson currently leads the ECHL in points (11) and is tied for the league lead in goals (5). His two shorthanded goals also leads the ECHL.
The Growlers have now had a player win an individual league award for the second consecutive week to start the season. Goaltender Dryden McKay earned Warrior HockeyECHL Goaltender of the Week honours for the week ending October 23, 2022.
On behalf of Isaac Johnson, a case of pucks will be donated to a Newfoundland youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Inglasco has donated more than 47,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Growlers return to action on Wednesday, November 2 as they visit the DCU Center for their first look at the Worcester Railers.
