The Newfoundland Growlers win streak was halted at six games in a 5-0 loss to the Adirondack Thunder on Saturday night at Cool Insuring Arena.

Shane Harper opened the scoring for Adirondack with a 5-on-3 snipe 6:23 before the first intermission to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. Xavier Parent added a second for Adirondack five minutes later to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage after one.

Brady Fleurent banked one in from below the goal line seven minutes into the middle frame to make it 3-0 Adirondack after 40 minutes.

Grant Jozefek got a wraparound effort to go for a 4-0 Thunder advantage moments into the 3rd period.

Harper notched his second of the game with an empy netter while Jake Theut turned away all 41 saves he faced for a 5-0 shutout win.
