Todd Skirving to replace Zach O'Brien at ECHL All-Star Classic

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that forward Todd Skirving will replace Zach O’Brien as the club representative at the upcoming 2023 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic to be hosted at the home of the Norfolk Admirals, the Norfolk Scope Arena on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

Skirving will serve as a member of the Eastern Conference All-Stars who will face off against the Western Conference All-Stars and the Cruisers and Destroyers, two teams comprised of players from the host Norfolk Admirals, in a tournament event including tradiitonal games and a skills competition.

The rosters for the Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Stars were determined in a vote of coaches, team captains, media relations directors, broadcasters and members of the media.

Skirving, a 30-year-old Thunder Bay native, has enjoyed the strongest start to a season in his six-year pro career with 26 points (14G, 12A) in his opening 32 games played. Serving as a consistent offensive weapon for Newfoundland in 2022-23, he was also named ECHL Player of the Week back in November.

Todd Skirving joins former Growlers Giorgio Estephan and Joe Duszak as the only players in club history to participate in the ECHL’s annual All-Star Classic.
