The Newfoundland Growlers head back north of the border for their next three road games as they visit the Trois-Rivières Lions at the Colisèe Vidèotron.
Newfoundland split their recent two game set with the Reading Royals at Santander Arena, falling 5-2 on Saturday evening before bouncing back with a 4-2 win on Monday afternoon. Pair that with a series of other divisional results and the Growlers remain 12 points clear of the closest challenger in the North Division.
Trois-Rivières have had a difficult sophomore ECHL season but continue to try and scratch and claw their way back into the playoff picture. The Lions won both of their home meetings with Adirondack this past weekend to move within three points of the fifth place Thunder.
Both Canadian clubs have visited their counterpart once this season with the Growlers taking four out of the five previous meetings between the two so far in 2022-23. While the gap in the standings favours Newfoundland, a rivalry matchup against a Lions group desperate to get points should serve as a difficult trio of games for the Growlers.
Puck drops is set for 8:30 pm on Wednesday and Friday while Saturday gets underway at 4:30 pm. Growlers fans can watch all three games live on FloSports (subscription required), listen to the call on Mixlr, or follow along on Twitter (@NLGrowlers) for game updates and highlights.
WHO TO WATCH:
NFL – Orrin Centazzo (F): Back from a quick stint with the Toronto Marlies, Centazzo gives an added offensive spark to the Growlers lineup just in time for a big three game stretch.
TR – Cedric Montminy (F): Amid plenty of roster turnover in the Trois-Rivières camp spanning back to last season, the Lions captain has been a consistent thorn in the side of the Growlers.
