ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that forward Jack Badini has been assigned to the club by the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Badini, a 25-year-old Connecticut native, has collected 14 points (8G, 6A) in 30 games with the Growlers this season. He’s also featured in five games with the Marlies at the AHL level.
A former 3rd round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks (91st overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft), Badini spent his last two seasons in the Ducks organization, largely playing with the San Diego Gulls (AHL) where he picked up eight points (2G, 6A) in 69 appearances.
Before turning pro, Badini played three seasons at Harvard University, amassing 51 points in 97 appearances for the program.
Badini is expected join the Growlers in Norfolk on their current road trip.
Newfoundland return to action on Thursday night as they take on the Norfolk Admirals at the Norfolk Scope.
