ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today that defenceman Tommy Miller has been assigned to the club by the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Miller, a 24-year-old West Bloomfield, Michigan native, played 14 times for Newfoundland earlier this season, notching six points (2G, 4A) along the way. Upon being recalled, the first-year pro went on to feature in 40 games for Toronto this season piling up seven assists in the AHL.
Prior to turning pro, Miller played four years at Michigan State where he served as captain for the Spartans in his senior year before transferring to Northeastern University for his fifth and final season of eligibility.
Miller is expected to join the team on the road as they conclude their regular season in Reading.
