OFFICIAL GAME SHEET

Game Story

The Newfoundland Growlers completed the series sweep over the Reading Royals with a 2-1 overtime win on Sunday evening at the Mary Brown’s Centre.

Both teams stayed off the scoresheet in the first period for the second straight night as it remained after a tight 20 minutes.

Despite a higher shot volume at both ends, neither side found a breakthrough in the second as it stayed 0-0 going into the third period.

After Jackson Berezowski nabbed what appeared to be the game winner for Newfoundland with 7:45 left in regulation, Yvan Mongo replied for Reading just a minute later to force overtime and secure a point for each side.

Berezowski made it a pair in the extra period as he finished off a great feed from Tyler Weiss in overtime to give Newfoundland a thrilling 2-1 win.
