Game Story

The Newfoundland Growlers dropped a tight contest 2-1 to the Reading Royals on Monday afternoon at Santander Arena.

Tate Singleton gave the Growlers a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game before Jake Bricknell replied for the Royals just 38 seconds later to make it a 1-1 game going into the first intermission.

Neither side had the answer in the middle frame as it remained 1-1 going into the third and final period of play.

Ryan Cox broke the deadlock for Reading with just 3:36 left in regulation to secure the 2-1 victory for the hosts.
