The Newfoundland Growlers will look to break out the brooms and close out the series Thursday night against the Brampton Beast in game four of the 2019 North Division Semifinals. A win will mark the first time a professional hockey team in St. John’s has swept a first-round matchup.

The Newfoundland Growlers scored three unanswered goals, finished off by Zach O’Brien who netted the game-winner at 3:32 of the second overtime, ending the longest game in Growlers franchise history in a 3-2 win over the Brampton Beast to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Hudson Elynuik, who was re-assigned by the Toronto Marlies prior to puckdrop, and Giorgio Estephan scored for the Growlers in regulation time. Jonathan Racine and Aaron Luchuk scored for Brampton. Michael Garteig made 30 saves in the win. The Growlers peppered Etienne Marcoux with 58 shots on net.
