Growlers Acquire Jerome From Solar Bears

ST. JOHN’S, NL â€“ The Newfoundland Growlers announced today that the club has acquired forward D-Jay Jerome from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for cash considerations.

Jerome, 23, signed with the Solar Bears back in August after evenly splitting time in 2022-23 between the ECHL and SPHL. The Lethbridge, Alberta native skated in 14 contests for the Trois-Rivières Lions last season and picked up eight points (3G, 5A) including three appearances against the Growlers where he notched a goal and an assist.

The former Solar Bear spent 2021-22 with the Allen Americans where he put up 10 points (4G, 6A) in 30 games.

Prior to turning pro, Jerome played 233 games in the WHL (Western Hockey League) with five total teams, scoring a cumulative 105 points (49G, 56A) across his junior career.

The Growlers return to the Mary Brown’s Centre to open the 2023-24 ECHL season on Friday, October 20 as they host the Reading Royals. Single game tickets for our opening home stand and the remainder of the regular season are on sale now as well as our 3, 9 & 18 Game Flex Packs.
