Game Story

The Newfoundland Growlers lost 6-3 to the Kalamazoo Wings in the series finale on Sunday evening at Mary Brown’s Centre.

Erik Bradford put the visitors ahead 1-0 less than three minutes in before Tate Singleton replied just 37 seconds later to make it 1-1 in the early goings.

Collin Adams bagged a pair of powerplay goals for the Wings later on in the first period to put Kalamazoo up 3-1 after 20 minutes.

Bradford joined the two-goal club eight minutes into the middle frame to make it 4-1 Wings before Tyler Weiss grabbed one back for the Growlers shorthanded in the dying moments of the second to bring it to 4-2 Kalamazoo with one period left to play.

Collin Saccoman made it 5-2 midway through the third and after a second from Weiss made it interesting momentarily, Bradford secured his hat-trick through a late empty netter making it a 6-3 Wings in the process.
